Three pairs of socks, actually!
The other evening I finished my latest Regia self-striping socks, and am currently wearing them. They’re very comfy and nice. Definitely the best fitting socks I’ve knitted myself so far!
Last night I began my father’s Christmas socks for the third time. And frogged them for the fourth. I surrender. Rather than the rather exciting socks I had planned for him, he is getting a pair knitted in good old self striping. It’s not what I’d planned, but these socks clearly hate me, and I do actually want to have these and a couple of other present pairs ready for Christmas! He can have exciting ones another time. In the end, the idea developed such that the socks were no longer particularly Christmassy, so it’s no loss from that point of view. I feel a bit bad about it, but I’ll do what I can to avoid anything too dull to make up for it. Although, somehow, I do need to make them socks he’ll actually wear!
Last night, as a result of the Christmas Sock frustration, I started a new pair for myself. It’s so much easier. They are in a lovely tealy blue colour, and I’m using a baby cable rib. They’re very cute! And best of all, I don’t need to think at all as I knit. I do appreciate that! It means that I can take them on the train and not need to haveĀ a pattern. All good, then!
