I mentioned, a while ago, a reasonably imminent infant, for whom I was knitting a jumper. Said infant has now landed in the world, and, although I have yet to meet her, her jumper is ready for her! Here it is, ably modeled by my beloved bear, Frankie.
I am marvellously reassured by the fact that it is too big for Frankie, as the jumper, on its own, is alarmingly small. I know babies do tend to be small, but still! This is the Child’s Placket Neck Sweater by Joelle Hoverson in the smallest size (0-6 months). I knitted it in RYC Cashsoft DK, and happily only needed two balls of yarn. I am not quite happy with the finishing, but finishing has never been my forte. But it looks fine, and seems to hold together, so I’m happy!
I have also cast on a pair of socks, using the beautiful greeny blue yarn Christina gave me for last year’s birthday. I am using Kate Blackburn’s Catherine pattern. I had my eye on a different pattern for this yarn, but it has proven nigh on impossible to get hold of in the UK, so I have put it on hold. I’m sure I’ll knit it one day, but in the meantime I really like this pattern, and I am excited to be finally using this yarn! So far it’s knitting up really nicely.

Isn’t it wild to see how small babies really are? The sweater is darling!
